Things to Consider for Your Bucket List

Create Your Bucket List

If you don’t have a bucket list, I highly recommend you to create one. How much does it cost? Probably 30 minutes to an hour, or more if you get really caught up in the writing . What do you gain? Significant clarity and focus on what you want from your life. It’s an invaluable exchange.

If you already wrote your bucket list before, take the opportunity to review it. See if there are new items you want to add-on. If so, add them in. Check if all the items listed are still relevant. If not, remove them.

If you are curious, you can check out my bucket list before you start off
Now, take out your pen and paper or open up a text editing document.

Start writing down what comes to mind as you read these questions:

* What if you were to die tomorrow? What would you wish you could do before you die?
* What have you always wanted to do but haven’t done yet?
* What will you do if you have unlimited time, money and resources?
* Any countries, places or locations you want to visit?
* What are your biggest goals and dreams?
* What do you want to see in person?
* What achievements do you want to have?
* What experiences do you want to have / feel?
* Are there any special moments you want to witness?
* What activities or skills do you want to learn or try out?
* What are the most important things you can ever do?
* What would you like to say/do together with other people? People you love? Family? Friends?

Bucket List

Last week I came across for motivational movies from internet and found The Bucket List (2007) is one which as the best line. I watched the movie and inspired to write this article.

This movie is all about Two terminally ill men escape from a cancer ward and head off on a road trip with a wish list of to-dos before they die.

The bucket list, it is a wish list of all the goals you want to achieve, dreams you want to fulfill and life-experiences you desire to experience before you die.

Why Create a Bucket List?

Why have a bucket list? If you don’t live your days by personal goals and plans, chances are you spend most of your time caught up in a flurry of day-to-day activities. Ever feel your days are passing by without any tangible output to speak of? What were your accomplishments in the past 3 months? What are your upcoming goals for the next 3 months? Look at the things you did and the things you’re planning to do next – Do they mean anything to you if you are to die today? Having a bucket list reminds you of what’s really important so you can act on them.

Even if you frequently live by goals or to-do lists, they are probably framed within a certain social context e.g., performance, career, health (Read Gold, Silver and Bronze Tasks on how to create effective to-do lists). A bucket list opens up your mind to set totally context-free goals where you list down anything and everything you ever wanted to do, no qualifiers needed.

It’s just like planning ahead all the highlights you want for YOUR whole life. Even though goal setting is already my staple activity, I still found many new things to do while I was writing on my bucket list. It was an incredibly insightful exercise. What’s more, coming up with the list it gave me a whole new layer of enthusiasm knowing what’s in store ahead!

The objective of creating a bucket list isn’t to instill some kind of a race against time or to create aversion towards death. I don’t see our existence to be limited to just our physical years on earth – I see our physical lifespan is but a short speck of our entire existence which spans across an infinite amount of time. The whole point of a bucket list is to maximize every moment of our existence and live our life to the fullest. It’s a reminder of all the things we want to achieve in our time here, so that instead of pandering our time in pointless activities, we are directing it fully toward what matters to us.

Sometimes A Loss Can Be A Gain

Emptiness Becomes Openness

Sometimes A Loss Can Be A Gain

When we lose anything that we cherish, the sense of emptiness we are left behind with can be overwhelming. A space that was filled, whether in our lives or our hearts, is now a void, and the feelings of pain, loss, and separation can sometimes be difficult to bear. While it is always important to honor what we've lost, sometimes a loss can also represent a chance for a new beginning. When we are ready, the void left by a relationship, a job, or a dream can then be viewed as open space that can be filled with something new: new experiences, new knowledge, new job opportunities, new dreams, new people, and new ways to grow.

There are many ways to weave the threads of loss into a blessing. If you've lost a job or ended a relationship, your first thoughts may revolve around filling the void with a similar job or the same kind of relationship. Try not to rush into anything just to fill up the emptiness. The loss of a job can free you up to explore new opportunities, especially if you've outgrown the old one. Likewise, the loss of a relationship can give you a chance to rediscover your own interests, explore new passions, and meet different people.

If seeking the good in what seems like a bad situation makes you feel uncomfortable, then try to remember that you are not devaluing what you've lost or replacing it cold-heartedly. You are surrendering to the fact that, in life, we sometimes have to let go and allow for what is new to enter into the open spaces created by our losses. In doing so, you are honoring what has left you and welcoming the new into your life with open space, an open mind, and an open heart.

What do you think?

10 Steps to Achieve Goals

1) Be specific about what you want to achieve
Most people don't know what they want to with their life, and even after thinking hard, they often don't come with something they really want to do. This is one of the main reasons that in spite of so many books on success, most people live an average life, not achieving some major success.

2) Draw up a plan of action
Devote as much time as you need to find a goal or goals, even minor goals are okay. Not everyone really desires great success and is willing to completely change his/her life. Not everyone desires to be a millionaire, or possesses the talent to make money.

After finding a goal that you really desire to achieve, draw up a plan or even several plans, and be as practical as possible.

3) Make a list of steps
List the steps you need to take, such as signing up for a course, studying, reading, developing the required skills, looking for a job, etc, and other steps you need to implement that will take you closer to achieving your goal.

4) Act, do not be passive
Take action and follow the steps on your list. Don't just wait for things to happen.

5) Read and listen to advice
Read books or articles about what you want to achieve. Meet people who can help you and listen to their advice, but use your common sense and reason before accepting anything.

6) Alternative plans
If a certain plan doesn't work, look for an alternative one.

7) Examine your goals periodically
Some goals aren't worth achieving. Circumstances and people change. Some goals lose their importance. It is a good idea to re-examine your goals regularly and weed out the worthless ones.

8) Repeat affirmations
Affirm with faith and feelings that your goal has already been achieved. If you don't undo your affirmations with doubts and lack of belief, they will be accepted by your subconscious mind, which will then provide you with more desire and motivation.

9) Visualize your goal
Visualization will also affect your subconscious mind, which will keep you motivated, focused on your goal, and more aware of ideas and opportunities.

10) Take action
Don't just affirm and visualize and do nothing. Take any action required to bring your goal into fruition. Follow your intuition, new ideas and opportunities that present themselves, and accept help from other people.

Top 7 Strategies To Achieve Your Goals

  1. Find out what is it that you want to achieve. Write a one-sentence definition of your goal. Work on this sentence until it is clear and to the point.

  2. Read this sentence several times before falling asleep at night, and upon waking up in the morning.

  3. Visualize your goal for some minutes, several times a day. In your mind's eye see your goal as achieved.

  4. Keep an expectant mood and with an open mind. This will help you become more attentive and aware of ideas and opportunities that will come your way, and which will help you achieve your goal.

  5. Exercise your will power and self-discipline to keep your focus on the goal, and to stick to your resolve to succeed. Do not let anything distract you or make you deviate from your goal.

  6. Go on, even if there are obstacles on the way or you see no progress. Those who persevere succeed.

  7. Silence is power. Do not talk too much on what you want to achieve. Concentrate on doing, not on talking. Too much talking with others about your desires and goals dissipate your inner powers. Learn to concentrate and channel your energy toward achieving your goal.

They even find it hard to be positive when things go well. Most of them don't know how to be positive and what they need to do. Like every other subject, the know-how of how to be positive can be learned and the skill developed. It is all a matter of attitude and thinking, both of which can be changed.

If we keeping thinking the same thoughts, they will eventually tend to manifest in our world. This means that if we desire good results we have to be careful of what we think. We have to stay and think positive.

Begin by becoming aware of your thoughts, and exchanging your negative thoughts with positive ones. Substitute negativity for being positive, thoughts about poverty with thoughts about wealth, ignorance with understanding, disharmony with harmony and lack of freedom with freedom. Start saying, "I can", "I am able" and "it is possible".

It is our mind that creates the kind of life we live. If we think positively we will transform our life accordingly. Everything starts from within, from the most simple action to the greatest achievement. We cannot always have control over our external circumstances, but we can control our inner world of thoughts, where everything starts. We can't always control our outer universe, but we can, with some effort, control our inner universe.

You are unhappy and negative because of how you think, but you can change the way you think. With a little work and effort you can change how you think, and this will you automatically change your attitude, expectations, actions and reactions, which will lead to more motivation, happiness and improved life.

Do not fill your mind with thoughts of lack. Think and believe that you already have abundance, success, love and happiness.

Learn to feel, think and even act, as if you are already living the life you visualize. If you can feel, think and act consistently in this way, you will become happier, and will attract new opportunities into your life.

Think about what you want, create a picture of it in your mind, and make it very clear and precise. Hold it there and focus on it in a positive way, until it becomes a reality in your life.

Always tell yourself, "I can", "I am able", "I can do it", "I am a positive person".

Often, during the day, repeat positive afframtions about what you want. Do so with faith, feelings, intention and focus.

Look for the good in every situation. There is always something good, or at least something useful to learn, even in difficult or unpleasant situations.

Follow your positive thoughts with positive actions.

Always focus your mind on the full half of the cup, not on the empty half.

Do your best to reject negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts.

Be aware of your company. Choose to be around positive people.

Read about other people's success. Read things that inspire you and make you feel good.

Focus your mind on how to be positive and you will discover more ways to be so.

We get what we expect to get, therefore, begin right now to expect the very best of everything that this world has to offer - and wish the same for everyone else. There is plenty of everything in the Universe for everyone, and the Universe can create more of the good things for everyone. Don't think lack, think abundance, for you and for everyone.

How to Be Optimistic

Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Do you expect the best or the worst to happen?

Being an optimist does not mean that you are out of touch with reality, ignoring difficulties and obstacles and behaving in a naive way.

Being an optimist means that you hope and expect events and plans to turn out well, and that you look with a smile on the future.

It is important to be a balanced optimist, not pretending that nothing bad can or ever will happen. Doing so can lead to being impractical, making poor decisions and letting people ridicule or take advantage of you. A balanced optimist looks at reality, acknowledge difficulties and obstacles, but is not discouraged by them. A balanced optimist can see the good and the bad, but at the same time expects success and puts forth effort to make things turn out well.

Being optimistic doesn't mean waiting for things to happen by themselves. It means expecting the best, believing that the best will happen, but at the same time making decisions, following them, acting and making things happen.

Why be an optimist? Because optimism keeps you motivated and energetic, pursuing what you want with ambition, confidence and happiness. It helps you focus on your vision, and makes everyday a happy day.

How can you be optimistic and keep holding this attitude?

Don't get angry with yourself if you find yourself feeling pessimistic. Acknowledge that it is only natural to feel pessimistic at times, when life is boring or when you encounter difficulties or hardships.

Acknowledge that changing your mental attitude takes time, so be patient.

Keep a list of motivational and inspiring quotes handy, and read them several times a day.

At least once a day listen to music, your favorite songs or some inspiring or relaxing music.

Exercise your body often and regularly.

At least once a day do something that makes you happy and satisfied. This can be anything, even some minor activity or action like eating something you love, watching a favorite T.V. program, reading or talking to a friend.

Try to smile more often.

Take more care of your appearance and how you dress. When you look good you will feel more confident and positive.

Endeavor to see the good in every situation.

Have enough sleep at night. When don't sleep enough or don't sleep well you can get moody, unhappy and impatient. Good sleep will make you more energetic, alive, optimistic and feeling good.

If you can, avoid the company of negative

Learn to accept the past, leave it behind and continue to better things. Wallowing in the past creates unhappiness and lack of optimism.

An optimist sees an opportunity in every calamity; a pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity.

Positive Attitude and Thinking

Positive thinking is a mental attitude that sees the bright side of life.

Positive thinking is a mental attitude and state of mind, which focuses on the full half of the glass and not on the empty half.

It is a mental attitude that expects positive results.

People with a positive frame of mind think about possibilities, growth, expansion and success. They expect happiness, health, love and good relationships. They think in terms of 'I can', 'I am able' and 'I will succeed'.

Positive thinking people are not daunted by failures and obstacles. If things don't turn out well or as expected, they will try again.

True positive thinking is not just saying that everything will be okay, as a lip service, and at the same time think about failure. In order to bring beneficial changes and improvement into your life, positive thinking has to become your predominant mental attitude throughout the day. It has to turn into a way of life.

Real and effective positive thinking requires that you focus on positive thoughts and positive emotions, and also take positive action.

Positive Thinking Your Key to Success

Positive thinking brings inner peace, success, improved relationships, better health, happiness and satisfaction. It also helps the daily affairs of life move more smoothly, and makes life look bright and promising.

Positive thinking is contagious. People around you pick your mental moods and are affected accordingly. Think about happiness, good health and success, and you will cause people to like you and desire to help you, because they enjoy the vibrations that a positive mind emits.

In order to make positive thinking yield results, you need to develop a positive attitude toward life, expect a successful outcome of whatever you do, but also take any necessary actions to ensure your success.

Effective positive thinking that brings results is much more than just repeating a few positive words, or telling yourself that everything is going to be all right. It has to be your predominant mental attitude. It is not enough to think positively for a few moments, and then letting fears and lack of belief enter your mind. Some effort and inner work are necessary.
Are you willing to make a real inner change?
Are you willing to change the way you think?
Are you willing to develop a mental power that can positively affect you, your environment and the people around you?

Here are a few actions and tips to help you develop the power of positive thinking:

Always use only positive words while thinking and while talking. Use words such as, 'I can', 'I am able', 'it is possible', 'it can be done', etc.

Allow into your awareness only feelings of happiness, strength and success.

Try to disregard and ignore negative thoughts. Refuse to think such thoughts, and substitute them with constructive happy thoughts.

In your conversation use words that evoke feelings and mental images of strength, happiness and success.

Before starting with any plan or action, visualize clearly in your mind its successful outcome. If you visualize with concentration and faith, you will be amazed at the results.

Read at least one page of inspiring book every day.

Watch movies that make you feel happy.

Minimize the time you listen to the news and read the papers.

Associate yourself with people who think positively.

Always sit and walk with your back straight. This will strengthen your confidence and inner strength.

Walk, swim or engage in some other physical activity. This helps to develop a more positive attitude.

Think positive and expect only favorable results and situations, even if your current circumstances are not as you wish them to be. In time, your mental attitude will affect your life and circumstances and change them accordingly.3

The Power of Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is a mental attitude that admits into the mind thoughts, words and images that are conductive to growth, expansion and success. It is a mental attitude that expects good and favorable results. A positive mind anticipates happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action. Whatever the mind expects, it finds.

Not everyone accepts or believes in positive thinking. Some consider the subject as just nonsense, and others scoff at people who believe and accept it. Among the people who accept it, not many know how to use it effectively to get results. Yet, it seems that many are becoming attracted to this subject, as evidenced by the many books, lectures and courses about it. This is a subject that is gaining popularity.

It is quite common to hear people say: "Think positive!", to someone who feels down and worried. Most people do not take these words seriously, as they do not know what they really mean, or do not consider them as useful and effective. How many people do you know, who stop to think what the power of positive thinking means?

The following story illustrates how this power works:
Allan applied for a new job, but as his self-esteem was low, and he considered himself as a failure and unworthy of success, he was sure that he was not going to get the job. He had a negative attitude towards himself, and believed that the other applicants were better and more qualified than him. Allan manifested this attitude, due to his negative past experiences with job interviews.

His mind was filled with negative thoughts and fears concerning the job for the whole week before the job interview. He was sure he would be rejected. On the day of the interview he got up late, and to his horror he discovered that the shirt he had planned to wear was dirty, and the other one needed ironing. As it was already too late, he went out wearing a shirt full of wrinkles.

During the interview he was tense, displayed a negative attitude, worried about his shirt, and felt hungry because he did not have enough time to eat breakfast. All this distracted his mind and made it difficult for him to focus on the interview. His overall behavior made a bad impression, and consequently he materialized his fear and did not get the job.

Jim applied for the same job too, but approached the matter in a different way. He was sure that he was going to get the job. During the week preceding the interview he often visualized himself making a good impression and getting the job.

In the evening before the interview he prepared the clothes he was going to wear, and went to sleep a little earlier. On day of the interview he woke up earlier than usual, and had ample time to eat breakfast, and then to arrive to the interview before the scheduled time.

He got the job because he made a good impression. He had also of course, the proper qualifications for the job, but so had Allan.

What do we learn from these two stories? Is there any magic employed here? No, it is all natural. When the attitude is positive we entertain pleasant feelings and constructive images, and see in our mind's eye what we really want to happen. This brings brightness to the eyes, more energy and happiness. The whole being broadcasts good will, happiness and success. Even the health is affected in a beneficial way. We walk tall and the voice is more powerful. Our body language shows the way you feel inside.

Positive and negative thinking are both contagious.
All of us affect, in one way or another, the people we meet. This happens instinctively and on a subconscious level, through thoughts and feelings transference, and through body language. People sense our aura and are affected by our thoughts, and vice versa. Is it any wonder that we want to be around positive people and avoid negative ones? People are more disposed to help us if we are positive, and they dislike and avoid anyone broadcasting negativity.

Negative thoughts, words and attitude bring up negative and unhappy moods and actions. When the mind is negative, poisons are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment.

Practical Instructions

In order to turn the mind toward the positive, inner work and training are required. Attitude and thoughts do not change overnight.

Read about this subject, think about its benefits and persuade yourself to try it. The power of thoughts is a mighty power that is always shaping our life. This shaping is usually done subconsciously, but it is possible to make the process a conscious one. Even if the idea seems strange give it a try, as you have nothing to lose, but only to gain. Ignore what others might say or think about you, if they discover that you are changing the way you think.

Always visualize only favorable and beneficial situations. Use positive words in your inner dialogues or when talking with others. Smile a little more, as this helps to think positively. Disregard any feelings of laziness or a desire to quit. If you persevere, you will transform the way your mind thinks.

Once a negative thought enters your mind, you have to be aware of it and endeavor to replace it with a constructive one. The negative thought will try again to enter your mind, and then you have to replace it again with a positive one. It is as if there are two pictures in front of you, and you choose to look at one of them and disregard the other. Persistence will eventually teach your mind to think positively and ignore negative thoughts.

In case you feel any inner resistance when replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, do not give up, but keep looking only at the beneficial, good and happy thoughts in your mind.

It does not matter what your circumstances are at the present moment. Think positively, expect only favorable results and situations, and circumstances will change accordingly. It may take some time for the changes to take place, but eventually they do.

Another method to employ is the repetition of affirmations. It is a method which resembles creative visualization, and which can be used in conjunction with it. It is the subject of another article on this website.

The Power of Affirmations

Affirmations are positive statements that describe a desired situation, and which are repeated many times, in order to impress the subconscious mind and trigger it into positive action. In order to ensure the effectiveness of the affirmations, they have to be repeated with attention, conviction, interest and desire.

Imagine that you are swimming with your friends in a swimming pool. They swim fifteen rounds, something you have never done before, and desiring to win the respect of your friends, you want to show them that you can make it too. You start swimming, and at the same time keep repeating in your mind, "I can do it, I can do it...". You keep thinking and believing that you are going to complete the fifteen rounds. What are you actually doing? You are repeating positive affirmations.

More than often, people repeat in their minds negative words and statements concerning the situations and events in their lives, and consequently bring upon themselves undesirable situations. Words and statements work both ways, to build or destroy. It is the way we use them that determines whether they are going to bring good or harmful results.

Often, people repeat negative statements in their minds, without even being aware of what they are doing. Do you keep thinking and telling yourself that you cannot do something, that you are too lazy, lack inner strength or that you are going to fail? Your subconscious mind accepts as true what you keep saying, and eventually attracts corresponding events and situations into your life, irrespective whether they are good or bad for you, so why not choose only positive statements?

Affirmations program the mind in the same way commands and scripts program a computer. They work in the same manner as creative visualization. The repeated words help you focus your mind on your aim, and automatically build corresponding mental images in the conscious mind, which affect the subconscious mind. The conscious mind, the mind you think with, starts this process, and then the subconscious mind takes charge. By using this process consciously and intently, you can affect your subconscious mind and thereby transform your habits, behavior, mental attitude and reactions, and even reshape your external life.

Sometimes results appear quickly, but often more time is required. Depending on your goal, sometimes you might attain immediate results, and sometimes it might take days, weeks, months or more. Getting results depends on several factors, such as the time, focus, faith and feelings you invest in repeating your affirmations, on the strength of your desire, and on how big or small is your goal.

It is important to understand that repeating positive affirmations for a few minutes, and then thinking negatively the rest of the day, neutralizes the effects of the positive words. You have to refuse thinking negative thoughts, if you wish to attain positive results.

How to Repeat Affirmations

It is advisable to repeat affirmations that are not too long, as they are easier to remember. Repeat them anytime your mind is not engaged in something in particular, such as while traveling in a bus or a train, waiting in line, walking etc, but do not affirm while driving or crossing a street. You may also repeat them in special sessions of 5-10 minutes each, several times a day.

Relax any physical, emotional or mental tension while affirming. The stronger the concentration, the more faith you have in what you are doing, the more feelings you put into the act, the stronger and faster will be the results.

Choose only positive words, describing what you really want. If you desire to lose weight, do not tell yourself "I am not fat" or "I am losing weight." These are negative statements, bringing into the mind mental images of what you do not want. Say instead, "I am getting slim" or "I have reached my right weight". Such words evoke positive images in the mind.

Always affirm in the present tense, not the future tense. Saying, "I will be rich", means that you intend to be rich one day, in the indefinite future, but not now. It is more effective to say, and also feel, "I am rich now", and the subconscious mind will work overtime to make this happen now, in the present.

The power of affirmations can help you to transform your life. By stating what you want to be true in your life, you mentally and emotionally see and feel it as true, irrespective of your current circumstances, and thereby attract it into your life.

Positive Affirmations

- I am healthy and happy.

- Wealth is pouring into my life.

- I am sailing on the river of wealth.

- I am getting wealthier each day.

- My body is healthy and functioning in a very good way.

- I have a lot of energy.

- I study and comprehend fast.

- My mind is calm.

- I am calm and relaxed in every situation.

- My thoughts are under my control.

Losing Weight with Creative Visualization

Creative visualization is a great tool for losing weight. By visualizing your body as you want it to be, you induce your subconscious mind to shape your body to look as close to your mental image as possible.

This does not mean that creative visualization will completely change the shape of your body. It means that if you visualize in accordance with the laws of visualization, you will improve the way it looks and reduce its weight.

It is a known fact that thoughts and emotions affect the body for better or worse, depending on your predominant thoughts and emotions. Negative thinking, stress, fear, excitement, worry and anger hurt the body. Under these conditions the body releases toxins into the blood, which affect it adversely.

Positive thinking, happiness, love and confidence heal, strengthen and energize the body.

You can use the connection between the mind and the body to your advantage. The subconscious mind accepts and treats both real conditions and mentally imagined conditions as real. This means that if you visualize yourself as being slim, your subconscious mind will accept what you visualize as true, and will act to make your body conform to your mental image.

Losing weight with the help of creative visualization can be termed as a "mental diet". Of course, the chances of success will be greater, if in addition to visualization you reduce the amount of food you eat, follow a diet and exercise your body.

Tips for losing weight through visualization:

# Two or three times a day, sit down for several minutes in a quiet place, and visualize your body as you wish it to be. Leave your worries, doubts and other thoughts behind, and concentrate on what you are doing.

# See yourself slim and beautiful, with your ideal weight. Forget how you look now. You are creating a new reality. See yourself at the beach or pool wearing a swimming suit. See how gorgeous you look. Imagine yourself wearing all those tight clothing that you have always wanted to wear.

# Visualize your family and friends complimenting you about how gorgeous your body looks and how slim you look now. Look at the whole scene as real, and as happening right now at the present moment, not in the future.

# You can construct in your mind any other scene you wish. You can see yourself exercising, dancing, with friends, with your husband or wife, at work, etc. See yourself moving and in action. Hear people complimenting you about your slim body, and see their admiring glances. In short, make the mental image as real as possible.

# Construct in your mind images that ignite your emotions. Make them alive and colorful. Make the scenes in your mind interesting and real, and see yourself in each scene as slim, the way you will look after you lose weight.

# Never visualize that you are disgusted with food or with eating, and do not develop a loathing for any kind of food. By visualizing your body as you wish it to look, your subconscious mind will direct you to eat the appropriate food in the right quantities.

# While visualizing, and after finsihing your visualization session, don't tell yourself: "well, it is all nonsense, I cannot lose weight". If you say these words you destroy all the work you have done. When thoughts of disbelief crawl into your mind do not listen to them. Let only thoughts of your ideal body shape enter and pass through your mind.

As in everything else in life, persistence is required.

Creative visualization can help you lose weight in a most natural way.
# It can make you desire to reduce the quantities of food that you eat.
# Your body can be taught to be staisfied with smaller quantities of food.
# Creative visualization can attract to you the diet that suits you most.
# It might lead you to desire to participate in some physical exercises that will reduce your weight.

The way you think affects your body. Think on what you want to achieve, not what you want to avoid. Think about how you want to look, not about being overweight. Visualize your body as you want it to look, not as it looks now. Do not concern yourself too much with what to eat or not to eat, but with how you want your body to be. Persist with your efforts, and you will start seeing results.

It is most important to believe what you visualize. Forget past failures to lose weight and reject disbelief, doubts and negative thoughts. Keep projecting your ideal figure on the screen of your mind, and your disbelief and inner resistance will begin to fade away.

Feelings and Emotions Energize Your Thoughts

Most of you have probably heard or read about creative visualization. Some of you have perhaps tried it. The idea is that by visualizing a mental image of a desired object or situation, you can attract it into your life. In this way you can change and shape your life, behavior and circumstances.

This technique utilizes the power of thoughts, but thoughts alone are not enough to make things happen. Some additional ingredients are required to energize the thoughts into action. These ingredients are your feelings and emotions.

What makes you take action, a cold uninteresting thought, or one charged with emotion?

What kind of lecturer rivets your attention, someone who talks in a boring, listless manner, or a lecturer who talks with zest and emotion?

People, actions and thoughts charged with emotion make a stronger impact. This is why it is important to add emotions to your thoughts, if you wish to manifest them. Feelings and emotions put life into thoughts and make them produce effect in the external world, the same way that electricity make electrical appliances work. Both electricity and thoughts require some sort of energy to make them work and produce results.

How to use the power of feelings and emotions in a practical way?

In order to make your thoughts come true, you need to charge them with emotional energy. Thoughts that are charged with emotional energy have greater affect and can drive into action. This is one of the secrets of using successfully the techniques of creative visualization.

If you want to achieve anything through creative visualization you need to energize your thoughts. You can do so by producing positive and happy feelings of success and happiness, and associating them with your goal.

All of us have experienced at least some sort of success or happiness in our life. Even small manifestations of success count. Think and find out such past moments. Remind yourself of that success or happiness and relive it in your imagination. Visualize the event as clearly as you can, and let the positive and happy feelings you experienced at that time become alive again. Relive and relish the happiness, exhilaration and feeling of success that you have awakened.

While in this mental and emotional state, start visualizing your current goal, while at the same time continuing to relive in your imagination the feelings and emotions you have awakened. Associate those feelings with your present goal. Feel as if you have already accomplished your goal, and you are feeling great, happy and satisfied. This action will inject energy into your thoughts and make them stronger.

In time, you will be able arouse feelings of success and accomplishment, without the need to use this method.

By charging your thoughts with emotional energy you can accomplish wonders. You set powers into action that will bring you the opportunities, tools or people necessary to accomplish your goals.

Visualization and Imagination

Visualization is an activity, which all of us perform every day. We plan and conduct our life according to the images that rotate in our minds. All the strivings, desires and ambitions have much to do with our mental images. We visualize constantly, whether we are aware of the fact or not. This activity has a very important place in the life of everyone.

Whenever you think or plan what to wear at work, at a party or on the beach, your imagination is in action. You use your imagination to visualize yourself wearing the clothes you are thinking about.

When you set out to go to some familiar place, such as your office, the grocery, a shopping mall, or a friend's house, your mind sees the place and the route to it, albeit unconsciously. Before going to a place where you have not been before, you plan your way beforehand. How do you do it? You use your imagination. You use your ability to visualize. You visualize the road, the streets you have to pass through, and even the traffic lights. You plan the way with the help of a map and your visualizing ability.

Suppose somebody asks you how to get to a certain address. You describe the way, while at the same time you see it in your imagination.

When you decide to bake a cake, buy a new pair of trousers, redecorate your home, decide which car to buy, plan your vacation, tell a story, or narrate a movie, imagination and visualization are at work.

What about daydreams? We imagine scenes and actions in the movie of the mind. At the moment we daydream, the daydream may seem real to us. If we repeat the same daydream over a period of time it becomes a habit. We may even start to believe it and accept it as a reality, especially when strong emotions are involved.

When positive daydreams materialize, they can bring only good. Yet daydreams can also be about unpleasant events, about difficulties, trouble and self pity. Then we call them worries. If we go on repeating them, they may materialize and bring unpleasantness and unhappiness.

What we visualize affects our attitudes, moods and state of mind. This means that we have to be very careful with what enters our mind. Thoughts are visitors, but when the same kinds of thoughts frequent the mind often, they become permanent residents. Do you accept and allow anyone to come and stay at your home? If you don't, why do you let thought do that?

Now to the practical stuff. Creative visualization is the process of visualizing an image in the mind, and through natural, mental laws bring it into manifestation on the material plane. Visualizing and expecting intentionally an event, action, or object is doing more then just an act of visualization. It is an act of creation. Deciding upon something that we really want to happen, and visualizing it with concentration, faith and desire, set great powers into action. Creative visualization is a powerfull tool, which we need to know how to use correctly and positively.

This is a natural process all of us use, though unconsciously. The thoughts that pass through our mind create our life. Through training and practice, it is possible to learn to accept, think and visualize only positive thoughts, and fill our life with happiness, success, health and love.

To use the powers of the mind effectively, which is actually mental magic, there is no need for spells and rituals. Thought power, imagination, emotions and intent are the main ingredients.

We perform mental magic, whenever we focus our minds on a particular thought and add emotions and feelings. Our strong thoughts have a definite effect on our environment and the people around us. To some extent, we are all magicians, though few realize it and use this power consciously.

Creative Visualization and Daily Tasks

I have found out that creative visualization can help us in our daily tasks, by making everything flow more easily, and with less energy expenditure. We constantly shape our daily events of life with our creative visualization power. Sometimes we like what we create and sometimes we don't. A little more attention to our thoughts and imagination can make a great difference.

Some time ago, my wife told me that the next morning we are going to clean the house. I decided to finish and be through with this work, as fast as I can. I did not want to spend all day cleaning, as I had more interesting things to do.

For a few minutes in the morning, I visualized the tasks to be executed in the service of cleaning. I saw myself doing everything very fast and finishing all the work until one o'clock at noon. I intentionally included the time in the visualization, as there are always additional, unforeseen tasks to do, and all kinds of interruptions, which may lengthen the cleaning work too much.

I worked extremely fast without getting tired, accomplishing one task after another. By about one o'clock I accomplished almost twice the tasks that I visualized in the morning. During the time that I was cleaning, I could even think and build in my mind an article I wanted to write, so the time was doubly utilized.

In this case the visualization gave me more energy, and there were no disturbances or additional unforeseen tasks. In a strange manner, all the work at home that my wife asked me to do was accomplished at the appointed time. This usually doesn't happen this way.

This method is useful in almost every daily situation. When for example, you know you going to have difficult day at work, or you have to meet someone you dread, this technique is very handy. I have used it myself successfully many times. You need to visualize the situation, as you would like it to be. You see the other person treating you in a friendly respectful way, and that's what happens.

Sometimes I visualize the details of how I am going to behave and react under some trying situations. When the situation or the person was confronted, everything just flowed so smoothly. The difficulties just vanished. The other person behaved and talked in a different way from his common behavior. Strange isn't it?

When a situation is visualized with full attention, it has its effect on the subconscious mind. It causes us to see the world differently, relate to people in a more constructive way, and grant us inner power, energy and faith. This influences our behavior and whomever we meet. Our thoughts are transmitted telepathically to our surroundings, influencing subtly the people we meet.

Creative visualization backed by attention and faith works. You can easily influence your daily life events, by using creative visualization. This technique can help you accomplish everything faster, with less strain and energy expenditure, and keep you feeling happy and satisfied.

Success and Creative Visualization

You can harness the power of creative visualization to help you improve every area of your life. It is a power you use everyday, whether you are conscious of it or not. With the knowledge of the laws and rules governing creative visualization, and a conscious and effective use of them, you can fill your life with success.

Health, success, money, promotion and possessions can be gained through creative visualization. It does not mean that everything will change overnight. Mental work is necessary. A change of attitude towards life is a necessity. You need an open mind, concentration, the ability to visualize, and a lot of enthusiasm and persistence.

Suppose you need five thousand dollars. Build in your imagination a mental image of a check for this amount, made out in your name. See it clearly as if it is really there, but do not visualize the name of the bank, or who signed it.

Imagine yourself holding the check. Pass your fingers over it to feel its texture. A clear cut mental image, involving all the five senses, and soaked with desire and faith is a power that influences your actions and imprints itself on the creative power of the universe.

Arouse in yourself feelings of happiness and satisfaction that you have received this check. Do not think who gave it to you, or why it was drawn in your name.

Imagining that you have already received the check is very important. This way the subconscious mind accepts it as a fact and does not arouse hindrances. It is also important to feel convinced that it came in a harmonious way, and that all people involved were and are benefited by it.

The next step is to see yourself depositing the check in your account at the bank. You may also visualize the entry for five thousand dollars in your bank's statement.

What will happen? The money will appear in your life. It may come through various channels. It may come as a present, winning at the lottery, a promotion at work, a new job, a good investment in shares or stocks, or through other channels. Results may be immediate or delayed.

Daydreams are the first stage, but daydreams alone are not sufficient. Do not make the mistake of mixing up creative visualization and daydreaming. They are two different things. The former may give some pleasure, but employing the latter correctly is utilizing a real power.

What you visualize can materialize through various ways and channels. Sometimes it may manifest in a fast, sudden and unusual manner, but mostly it manifests in a most natural and gradual manner, one thing leading to another.

Suppose you are trying to get a car by visualizing it. After a while, you might win some money in a lottery or find a new job with a higher pay, and so be able to buy it. You might receive a car as a present or you might get one, as part of your job's benefits. You might also decide to buy a car because you can afford to do so, or because you earned money from investments in stocks and shares. The possibilities and channels are endless.

Concise Guidelines for Creative Visualization

Define your goal.

Think, meditate and listen to your intuition to ascertain that you really desire to attain this goal.

Ascertain that only good will result from your visualization, for you and for others.

Sit alone in a quiet place, where you will not be disturbed.

Relax your body.

Breathe rhythmically and deeply several times.

Visualize a clear and detailed mental image of what you desire to get or accomplish.

Use in your imagination all the five senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste.

Add desire and feelings into what your mental image.

Visualize at least twice a day, about 10 minutes each time.

persevere with your visualiztion, day after day, with, patience, hope and faith.

Stay positive, thinking positive thoughts, feeling positive feelings and using positive words.

During the day, when negative thoughts and doubts arise, replace them with positive thoughts. As each negative thought enters your mind, immediately substitute it with a positive thought.

Keep an open mind, so that you recognize opportunities and take advantage of them.

After concluding your visualization session, say attentively and earnestly, "Let everything happen in a harmonious and favorable way for all involved".

Use the power of imagination only for your and others' good, and never try to use it to get something that belongs to others or hurt others. Make sure that what you are creating is good for all involved, and cause no harm to your environment.

Though the manifestation of your goal might sometimes happen in a sudden and expected manner, most of the time it will happen in a natural and gradual manner, one thing leading to another. If you desire money, it won't necessarily drop on your head from the sky or you will win it in the lottery. It will more probably come through a new job, promotion, a business deal or through various other channels.

Our thoughts and feelings, and the mental images we carry in our mind, affect our life. By changing them we change our life. This means that we have to be careful with our thoughts and how we feel about them, otherwise we might get things and enter into situations that you do not want, and then we will have to find ways to get rid of them. Better think and visualize what that we really and truly want, and which will improve our life.

Approach this mental work with a positive attitude, earnestness and faith, but at the same time with some detachment, and regarding it as a sort of game or play. This attitude will prevent inner tension and disappointment, if things don't happen as expected.
